Description

Hardware features

The EPC-A72-101-C has several expansion connectors on the backside – 2 USB 2.0 connectors, 1 USB 3.0 connector, 1 Type-C connector, 1 LAN connector, 5 RS232 connectors, and 2 RS485 connectors. It also features a 3.5mm audio connector and a TF card slot. 

The WiFi/Bluetooth module is based on the Realtek RTL8723BU an 802.11bgn 2.4G single-chip that integrates Wireless LAN (WLAN) and a network USB interface (USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 compatible) controller with integrated Bluetooth 2.1/3.0/4.0 controller. It combines a WLAN MAC, a 1T1R capable WLAN baseband, and WLAN RF in a single chip. 

The RS485 and RS232 connectors are DB9 connectors (as you can see from the image). 

The speed of the RS232 and the RS485 port is up to 115200 Baud. 

The EPC-A72-101-C has one channel 1Gb Ethernet port and one TF (uSD) card connector. This device supports a TF card up to 32GB. 

When it comes to audio capabilities, the EPC-A72-101-C has one 3.5mm Output/Input connector and a 2W internal speaker. 

The typical power consumption is 7.5W.

System-on-Module

This product features the Rockchip RK3399, an ARM dual Cortex-A72 (1.8GHz) plus Quad Cortex-A53 (1.4GHz) high performance and ultra-efficient processor that implements the ARM v8-A architecture. The fast processing of Cortex-A72 is particularly suited to mobile applications. 

This processor supports the following features: advanced single instruction multiple data (SIMD) operations, floating-point operations, and optional cryptography extension.

Display and Touchscreen

The EPC-A72-101-C has a 10.1’’ 10-point capacitive touch screen, with a 1200×800 resolution. 10-point capacitive touchscreens offer stable and accurate control over the device.   

Capacitive touchscreens offer great image clarity. They are also very durable and resistant to environmental contaminants like dust and water. These types of screens work best with either a finger or a stylus with a conductive tip. 

Software and OS

This product comes with a pre-installed OS of your choice. Please use the drop-down menu to choose the one you need, and we’ll pre-install it for you.

It supports the following operating systems:

  • Debian

* Chipsee Linux is based on NXP Yocto framework that we have integrated with:

  1. A Chipsee Hardware Test Application.
  2. An initialization script for GPIO/Buzzer/Audio.
  3. Multiple libraries, such as the libQt5Sql to develop Qt application with SQL.
  4. Various packages, such as the ntfs-3g to use NTFS.
