1 Define what LCD and touch panel you need

It would be best if you defined the LCD dimension first. This, of course, depends on your end product dimension and the display request.

When defining the LCD dimension, you need to decide what resolution you need.

LCDs have many kinds of resolution. For example, a 7inch LCD has 800*480, 1024*600, and 1280*800 resolution (three types of resolution). Generally speaking, a higher resolution will cause a higher price.

When you’re deciding what LCD brightness you need, you should consider if your product will work outdoors. In that case, you’ll need a higher brightness LCD.

After defining your LCD dimension, you should determine what kind of touch panel is required.

We offer resistive touch and capacitive touch panels. For most usage, capacitive touch is the better choice, because support multi-point touch and are stronger than resistive touch panels, also suitable for touch-based OS like Android. Very few usages will need resistive touch only: if your end product is in contact with water frequently or works in a particular electromagnetic field. In these cases, resistive touch will be more reliable.

If you don’t need an LCD with a touch panel, just the main board, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, we can also supply the main board independently.

2 Define what kind of CPU you need

Product performance is based on CPU performance. We have products based on ARM Cortex A7, Cortex A8, Cortex Quad-A9, Cortex A72 CPU, and Intel’s X86 CPU. We have selected the leading CPU from the most trustable manufacturers: NXP, TI, Rockchip, Raspberry Pi.

If your product only needs common control and essential functions and has a stringent budget, we offer the Cortex A7 product line that comes with the 7″ display.

We offer 5~8″ products based on Cortex A8 if your industrial application has a strict budget but requires better performance.

If you need a higher resolution display (>1024*768) or higher video performance or your application needs extensive calculations, Cortex Quad-A9 will be a better choice. We currently offer 7~21″ products based on Cortex Quad-A9.

If you need AI function support, such as face recognition, or any other resource-intensive application, Cortex A72 will be a good choice. This CPU has 2 Cortex A72 cores and 4 Cortex A53 cores, and a price point similar to the Cortex Quad-A9 CPU. We currently offer 7~21″ products based on this CPU.

Our Intel x86-based products are the best choice for all the users looking for an Industrial PC that can run Microsoft Windows OS.

Finally, we invite you to take a look at our Industrial Pi product line, featuring industrial computers for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module, with Cortex-A53 (CM3) and Cortex-A72 (CM4) CPU.

3 Select the right operating system

Our products support Android, Linux, Debian, and Ubuntu systems. In the table below, you can see all the available OS supported for each MCU.

Android Linux Ubuntu Debian Windows
A7
A8
A9
A72
A72 (Raspberry Pi)
A53
A53 (Raspberry Pi)
x86

Our Intel-based products come with a pre-installed Linux operating system. You can also choose to get Windows pre-installed (select the OS you want while ordering).

As for the Raspberry Pi-based products, they support the Debian operating system.

If your app has demanding touch requirements, Android is the best choice.

If you develop with QT and your application doesn’t need to rely on too many third-party libraries or cross-compile complex third-party libraries, Linux is your best choice. Otherwise, choose Debian or Ubuntu. These systems can easily install third-party libraries using apt tools.

4 Define what peripheral you need

Our industrial computers support many peripherals such as RS232, RS485, CAN BUS, USB HOST, LAN, or GPIO.

Some industrial applications need isolation for the communication port, and some need POE support. When you define these functions, please compare them with our products to check if they match your needs.

After that, you should decide if you need our metal case or not. Our products under 10.1″ are available with (Panel PC) and without a metal case (Embedded PC).

If our product peripheral can’t match your request completely, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, and we’ll make a customised product for you.

NOTE: If the product you have chosen does not have an integrated WiFi/Bluetooth module, we can easily add a USB Dongle, for which we also supply the drivers.

Do you need a customised solution?
We’ll make it for you.

Our highly skilled engineers will take their time to see your project needs and propose the best possible custom solution to you.

We will take care of everything – from the logo on the customised packaging or the required colour of the casing to the custom version of the OS and the 100% custom-designed product based on your specifications.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
