The CS-CM4-BOX is an efficient, fanless industrial box PC powered by the Raspberry Pi CM4, a powerful Quad Cortex®-A72 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, balancing speed and efficiency. Its compact and lightweight design, complemented by integrated brackets, allows for secure mounting on any flat surface, including industrial cabinets and walls.

This unit boasts a wide array of connectivity options, making it highly adaptable for challenging industrial or outdoor settings where robust communication capabilities are essential.

Engineered with specially designed aluminium housing that includes fins, the CS-CM4-BOX achieves enhanced heat dissipation through passive cooling. This thoughtful design negates the need for internal fans, thereby reducing noise and cutting down on maintenance costs and efforts, making it an ideal solution for environments where quiet operation and low maintenance are priorities.

Hardware description

The CS-CM4-BOX is powered by the Raspberry Pi CM4, a Quad Cortex®-A72 processor, operating at a speed of 1.5GHz, providing a balance of performance and efficiency.

This device offers extensive connectivity options to cater to diverse requirements. It includes a CAN bus for automotive communications, USB 3.0 and USB Type-C OTG for high-speed data transfer, dual LAN ports for network redundancy, RS232 and RS485 interfaces for serial communication, and an HDMI output supporting HD external displays.

The integrated WiFi/Bluetooth functionality is determined by the Raspberry Pi CM4 module chosen. A 4G/LTE module is also available as an optional add-on, enhancing its wireless capabilities. Both modules come with antennas for optimal signal reception.

Regarding power management, the CS-CM4-BOX is equipped with robust protection features. These include safeguards against over-current, over-voltage, power surges, and reverse polarity, ensuring compliance with stringent industrial safety standards. This makes the CS-CM4-BOX a reliable choice for demanding industrial applications.

Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4

This IPC core is the Raspberry Pi CM4, powered by a high-performance Broadcom BCM2711 (RPi 4) application processor.

The BCM2711 has the quad-core CPU design of the BCM2837 but uses the more powerful ARM A72 core. It has a greatly improved GPU feature set with much faster input/output. It is also capable of addressing more memory.

The BCM2711 chip continues to use the heat-spreading technology that started with the BCM2837B0, which provides better thermal management.

Raspberry Pi OS

All Raspberry Pi-based products come with the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS already installed. For specific models, such as the AIO-CM4-101 and the AIO-CM4-156, it is also possible to choose Android 13 or Ubuntu 20.04 as preinstalled OS.
