Hardware Features
The PPC-CM4-070-D is full-featured, rugged, designed, and certified for industrial usage, ready to deploy industrial applications based around the Raspberry Pi® Compute Module 4.
The Compute Module 4 appears in different versions depending on the size of the DDR4 and eMMC. The PPC-CM4-070-D comes with the CM4 of your choice.
The PPC-CM4-070-D has a 5-point capacitive touch screen, with a 1024×600 resolution, that offers stable and accurate control over the device and great image clarity. They are also durable and resistant to environmental contaminants like dust and water. These screens work best with either a finger or a stylus with a conductive tip.
On the connectivity side, the PPC-CM4-070-D excels thanks to the multiple options: two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C OTG port, multiple GPIO, RS232, RS485, CAN, micro SD slot, 4G/LTE module (optional), ZigBee module (optional), WiFi and Bluetooth (depends on the Compute Module 4 selected), audio out, internal speaker.
The main differences between PPC-CM4-070 and PPC-CM4-070-D are:
1. The suffix -D refers to Dual Giga Ethernet;
2. PPC-CM4-070-D has two USB 3.0 Host, while the PPC-CM4-070 has USB 2.0 Host;
3. PPC-CM4-070-D supports the PWM signal via Node-Red (if you want this option to be enabled, please inform us when placing an order);
4. PPC-CM4-070-D has a smaller metal case that cannot be open and dismantled;
5. The position of the USB and LAN connector is different on these two products;

Performances and reliability
The PPC-CM4-070-D is powered by the Raspberry Pi CPU, a high-performance Broadcom BCM2711 (RPi 4) application processor.
The BCM2711 has the quad-core CPU design of the BCM2837 but uses the more powerful ARM A72 core. It has a greatly improved GPU feature set with much faster input/output. It is also capable of addressing more memory.
The BCM2711 chip continues to use the heat-spreading technology that started with the BCM2837B0, which provides better thermal management.
Operating System
The PPC-CM4-070-D, like other Raspberry Pi® based products, supports the Debian operating system.
We have developed all the needed drivers, so every hardware feature is readily available for any standard development tool. If your project requires an OS that is not on the list, please contact us, and we’ll make a customized version that suits your needs.
If you need a different OS installed, get in touch with us and we will do it for you.
