Hardware description
The PPC-A72-215-P has several expansion connectors on the backside such as USB, LAN, Ethernet, RS232, and RS485 connectors. There are 5 x UART channels in total. The default configuration is 3 x RS232 and 2 x RS485, including 1 debug port. UART can be swapped between RS232 and RS485 modes easily. The integrated WiFi/BT module is based on the Realtek RTL8723BU an 802.11bgn 2.4G single-chip that integrates Wireless LAN (WLAN) and a network USB interface (USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 compatible) controller with an integrated Bluetooth 2.1/3.0/4.0 controller. It combines a WLAN MAC, a 1T1R capable WLAN baseband, and WLAN RF in a single chip.
The PPC-A72-215-P also features a TF card slot supporting a TF card of up to 32GB. Speaking of audio capabilities, the PPC-A72-215-P has one 3.5mm Output/Input connector and a 2W internal speaker. The typical power consumption is 16W.
The PPC-A72-215-P has a 21.5’’ 10-point capacitive touch screen, with a 1920×1080 resolution, that enables stable and accurate control over the device.
Capacitive touchscreens offer great image clarity. They are also very durable and resistant to environmental contaminants like dust and water. These types of screens work best with either a finger or a stylus with a conductive tip.
